Most patients check a clinic online before they call. They are usually on a phone, often worried, and looking for a few specific answers. A good clinic website gives them those answers in seconds — and makes booking effortless.
Use this checklist to plan a new site or review your current one.
1. The essentials, visible straight away
These should be on the home page, without scrolling far on a phone:
- Clinic name and specialisation — “Dental clinic in Saket”, not just a logo.
- OPD timings, including days off. Patients want to know if you are open today.
- A call button and a WhatsApp button that work with one tap.
- Area or address, with a link to Google Maps directions.
2. Doctor profiles that build trust
Patients choose a doctor as much as a clinic. For each doctor, include:
- A clear, friendly photo.
- Qualifications and registration details.
- Years of experience and areas of interest.
- Which days and times they are available.
3. Treatments and services in plain language
List what you treat the way patients describe it. “Root canal treatment”, “braces for children”, “diabetes check-up” are more useful than technical terms alone. A short paragraph for each — what it is, who it is for, and roughly what to expect — answers questions before they are asked.
Keep it factual. Avoid promises like “guaranteed cure” or exaggerated before-and-after claims. Calm, accurate information builds more trust and keeps you in line with medical ethics guidelines.
4. Location, parking and directions
- An embedded Google Map.
- A nearby landmark (“opposite the metro station”).
- Parking or accessibility information, such as a lift or ramp.
5. Easy appointment booking
The simplest options are usually the best: tap to call, or tap to WhatsApp with a pre-filled message. If you want more, a short booking form or an appointment app can be added — but do not make patients fill in ten fields just to ask for a slot.
6. Photos of the clinic
Real photos of the reception, consultation rooms and equipment make a first visit feel familiar. Clean, well-lit phone photos are perfectly fine. Avoid stock photos of smiling models — patients can tell.
7. Practical information
- Consultation process and what to bring.
- Accepted payment methods and any insurance or TPA tie-ups.
- Emergency contact details or nearest emergency facility, if relevant.
8. Behind the scenes: speed and Google
- Mobile first. Most patients will see your site on a phone, so it must load fast and be easy to read with one thumb.
- Google Business Profile. Link it to your website and keep timings identical on both.
- Page titles with your speciality and area, so you appear for searches like “paediatrician in Dwarka”.
- SSL (the padlock), especially if you have any form on the site.
Common mistakes that cost appointments
- Outdated timings that send patients to a closed clinic.
- A phone number that is an image, so it cannot be tapped.
- No mention of the area or locality.
- Heavy sliders and videos that make the site slow on mobile data.
- Only a contact form, with no phone or WhatsApp option.
Suggested pages for a clinic website
Home · About the doctor/team · Treatments · Timings & location · Book an appointment · Gallery · Contact. A blog with health tips is optional and works well if you can add articles regularly.
