For a CA or tax practice, a website has two jobs: help new clients understand what you do and reach you quickly — especially near deadlines — and reduce the repetitive questions that fill your phone and WhatsApp every season.
Here are the pages we recommend, and what to put on each.
ICAI guidelines govern how chartered accountants may publicise their services. Keep your website informational and factual, and review the final content against the latest ICAI guidance.
1. Home page
- Firm name, location and a one-line summary of what you do.
- Your main services, each linking to its own section or page.
- A phone number and WhatsApp button that work with one tap.
- Office hours, and any extended hours during filing season.
2. Services — ideally one section or page per service
Clients search for specific needs, not “accounting services”. Separate, clearly named services help both people and Google:
- GST registration, returns and notices
- Income tax return (ITR) filing for individuals and businesses
- TDS returns and compliance
- Audit and assurance
- Company, LLP and partnership registration
- Bookkeeping and accounting
- ROC filings and annual compliance
For each, explain in two or three sentences who needs it and what the process looks like.
3. Document checklists
This is the page clients will thank you for. A simple list of documents needed for ITR filing, GST registration or company incorporation saves hours of back-and-forth. Make it printable and easy to share on WhatsApp.
4. About the firm and partners
- Partner profiles with qualifications and areas of expertise.
- Firm registration details and years in practice.
- Industries you work with most, if relevant.
5. Due-date calendar (optional but valuable)
A simple list of upcoming tax and compliance due dates gives clients a reason to return every month. Keep it accurate and updated — an outdated calendar does more harm than good, so only add it if someone will maintain it.
6. Updates or articles (optional)
Short explanations of new notifications or common questions (“Do I need to file ITR if my income is below the limit?”) build trust and bring search traffic over time.
7. Contact page
- Office address with map, phone, WhatsApp and email.
- A short enquiry form: name, phone, service needed.
- Branch offices, if any.
Features worth considering
- WhatsApp on every page — many clients prefer it to calls.
- Secure document upload — useful for larger practices; usually a custom feature.
- Client login to view filed returns or invoices — a web application project rather than a basic website.
What to avoid
- Promotional claims, discounts or comparisons with other firms.
- Unverified client testimonials.
- Outdated tax limits or rates left on the site from previous years.
